We are one of largest manufacturer of cooling tower fills and drift eliminators in India. We started Manufacturing in technical and financial collaboration of Munters Euroform Germany. Fills design of Munters are tested and developed in reputed test facility. It was Munters design, which facilitated and optimized the interaction of air and water. These fill media meet the physical properties as recommended by Cooling Tower Institute U.S.
1.Authenticated Tested Curve: The major aspect of a fill designed is to produce a product with the highest possible heat transfer potential, least amount of air side pressure loss, using the best material available. For the highest possible heat transfer the packaging should maximize its surface potential by allowing complete wetting and provide the maximum air water contact. For the lowest possible airside pressure loss, the cooling must occur while minimizing the mechanical energy lost by air.
Some major factors which contribute to the fill performance are as follows: Microstructure type, Flute typ, Flute angle, Tip design, Module depth, Material of construction
Most of these parameters and therefore the performance of the fill are further dependent upon factors like water loading and air velocities and would vary under different conditions and hence since the performance of the fill is a based on a number of complex factors, it would be ideal to measure the performance of the fill based on continuous testing in a cooling tower testing laboratory specifically constructed to very high accuracy , wherein various parameters under different conditions are tested to generate the correlations of both the merkel number and the fill resistance to air flow (pressure drop) and these correlations are then checked for uniformity over the testing lab.
We would like to specifically highlight that these laboratories are only available out of India and probably only 10 to 15 of these exist in the world. Hence it becomes crucial to have a proper transfer of technology with any major manufacturer who have Research and Testing facility and have designed and tested these profile of fills over years to come to a practical correlation.
We at MM Aqua are proud to say that the fill technology of MM AQUA has been a direct technology transfer from MUNTERS INDIA who have been the first in the world to design and manufacture the cross corrugated fill technology by carrying out years of R&D at their lab in GERMANY. Based on their experience and Research the complete manufacturing technology including tooling have been transferred to MM AQUA. Along with the same the complete technical information including all the relevant equations and graphs, gluing and erection manuals have also been officially transferred to us.
With the above in view, we would request you to consider that the fill being supplied should be Technically tested in a cooling tower laboratory and the technology transfer should have taken place. The documents and manual of the original manufacturer should be available so that the equations and correlations developed can be cross checked. This would enable you to ensure that the cooling tower fills which are being installed are having heat and mass transfer capability as desired and which are proven. In the absence of above the capability of the tower might be directly affected.
2.Continuous Forming: Continuous forming process allows free flow of material during the stage of formation. Additional requirement of raw material is met hence no thinning takes place at crests & troughs.
3.Double Edge Folding: MM Aqua’s manufacturing technique has the ability to fold the edges of the sheets providing stronger edges, which gives extra protection against water loads and shear force form beams. It also protects the fill from damages during installation & maintenance.
Uniform Thickness: Provides uniform strength in fill sheets all along the fill surface.
5.Longer Length: Allows the structural designer to reduce number of support beam thus intern reduces the pressure drop and cost of construction.
